What happens next

We will contact you to confirm a time, ask a couple of questions about your water, and let you know whether laboratory analysis is likely to be worth including.

Before you call anyone

Two things make any water conversation more useful, and both are free.

  1. Do the glass test if your water is cloudy

Fill a clear glass and watch it. Clearing from the bottom up is air and needs nothing. Clearing from the top down means sediment.

  2. Check whether an odour is hot-only

Smell the cold tap and then the hot. A rotten-egg smell only in hot water is usually a water-heater item, not a filtration problem — and that is worth knowing before anyone quotes you.

If you are on city water, your utility’s annual Consumer Confidence Report is also free and answers several questions before anyone visits.
